Like many comedians before him, Charlie studied Arts/Law before making his foray into comedy. He made his first appearance at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 1997 and this led to many successful ventures, performing standup comedy around the world.

Charlie co-hosted Channel 10s ‘The Project’ for five years before creating and hosting The Weekly on the ABC.  He was also a regular on other shows like Talkin’ ‘bout Your Generation and Rove Live.

In 2010 Charlie released a book – Impractical Jokes. Charlie is widely recognised as a political junkie and for his amazing general knowledge.
