Model United Nations
Future global leadersThis week, Brighton Grammar School hosted 115 students from local schools for an engaging Model United Nations conference.
Future global leaders debated solutions to one of the world’s most pressing issues: zero hunger and global poverty.
Students represented key nations, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Egypt, as they collaborated on a draft UN resolution addressing food security, sustainable agriculture, and humanitarian aid.
Key proposals included:
- Strengthening global food aid programs to support famine-affected regions
- Protecting food supply chains in conflict zones to ensure access for vulnerable communities
- Encouraging sustainable farming practices to combat climate change and increase food production
- Addressing gender disparities in food access, ensuring women and children receive proper nutrition
The event was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop diplomacy, critical thinking, and leadership skills while tackling real-world challenges.
Well done to all delegates for their passionate speeches, thoughtful negotiations, and global-minded solutions!
