Students Lead Through Collaboration
A voice of change, a voice of passion, a voice of the students. The Brighton Grammar and Firbank Grammar Student Councils met recently to collaborate and discuss ways of working, events, ideas and ways in which they could work together more effectively.
With all students from Years 8 to 12 actively participating, it allowed the council members to not only learn about different administrative processes but also to learn of new leadership styles that each school embraces.
This collaboration of ideas and experiences helped both groups grow, broadening their understanding of how leadership and student involvement can vary, yet still be impactful in fostering school spirit and success.
As the year moves forward, both councils will continue to build on this collaboration. We have plans to discuss and organise an exciting interschool event aimed at celebrating student achievement and recognising the talents of their peers. This will not only honour the endeavours of students but also raise funds for a charitable cause.
From this event alone, Brighton Grammar and Firbank Grammar students are beginning to build strong foundations that grow positive leadership and championing initiatives that aid the direct school and wider communities.
The councils are looking forward to continued collaboration and the creation of new opportunities for student engagement and constructing a better tomorrow.
