VCE Support

Setting up for success

If you have a son completing a VCE subject this year, you may have heard some advice about the “Three W’s” at one of our information evenings earlier in the year.

When navigating homework discussions with your son, we advise parents to ask “What ‘s going on?”  “When is it due?” And then… Walk away.

While this may feel counterintuitive, we have some terrific processes and programs in place to set up our VCE boys for success. We can support them here at school, provide structure and consequences when needed, and you can maintain a positive relationship with them!

Our long day program runs from 4.00 – 7.30pm in the Hancock wing, bringing our Year 12 boys together to study after school. There are subject teachers and past scholars on hand to provide support, and boys are encouraged to work collaboratively on their homework and revise for upcoming assessments.

Regardless of the subjects they are undertaking, working together as a team allows the boys to feel less isolated, and gives them a sense of being in it together.
