Farewell Class of 2025

Beating the Bounds

Whether you undertake it several times, or only once, as a student, a parent or as both, Beating the Bounds can’t be fully explained; it has to be experienced.

Walking a lap of the entire school, the route takes the Valedictory Class and their families from St Andrew’s Church to the Junior School, to the Urwin Centre, then passing through the Rosstrevor precinct, the Crowther Oval, Annandale Pavilion, Tower Wing and then back onto the Quad, for the last time.

Some students do it arm in arm, holding hands or shoulder to shoulder with their parents, grandparents or their mates. It is an intimate ceremony, somewhat sombre, often joyful and always unique to everyone who takes part.

To the Valedictory Class of 2025, thank you for being a part of Brighton Grammar School.

Good luck for your examinations and for life beyond the school gates, and Meliora Sequamur.
