Introduction to STEM Racing (Formerly F1 in Schools)

Location: BHIVE

From the Brighton Grammar Secondary School State and National winning STEM Racing program comes an exciting development program for students in Year 5 & 6. 

The BGS+ Racing: Introduction to STEM Racing program will introduce Junior School students to the STEM Racing competition where participants will learn all aspects of competing.  

The program is capped at 20 participants per session.  

Introduction to STEM Racing Program: 

The Introduction to STEM Racing – Year 5 & 6 program is based at Brighton Grammar’s Secondary School STEM Racing program and aims to provide boys with an introduction and technical skills to compete in the competition in Year 7. 

Topic 1 – Introduction

  • About STEM Racing, team branding and marketing

Topic 2 – Construction

  • Car design and construction

Topic 3 – Outcomes

  • Teamwork, reaction timing and contributive discussion

Topic 4 – Presentations

  • Presentation skills, writing and presenting

Topic 5 – Track preparations

  • Racing, reaction testing, track safety and outcomes

Topic 6 – Racing

  • Racing and awards

Future Term Dates in administration

Time: 3.45 – 5.45pm

Location: BHIVE Building, BGS Secondary School 

Students will be taken to the BHIVE from the Junior School by a staff member. 

Parents are to pick up students directly from the BHIVE at 5.45pm.

Maximum 20 students per session

 

Cancellations

Cancellations will be accepted within 7 days from the invoice issue date each term. Withdrawals outside of this timeframe incur an administration fee of $50.
