George Thomson’s deep-rooted connection with Brighton Grammar School spans nearly 80 years, making him an integral part of the institution’s history and success.
George’s contribution to the School is unparalleled, evident in his extensive and esteemed honour roll. He has served in various leadership positions, including terms as OBGS (Old Brighton Grammarians Society) President, Chairman of Council, and Life Governor of the School. Such remarkable dedication has earned him the distinction of being one of only 19 Honoured Life Members of the OBGS. Currently, George proudly serves as a Patron of the Sequamur Society, further demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the School’s community.
Beyond his involvement with BGS, George has left an indelible mark in the real estate industry, solidifying his reputation as a pioneer in the field. In recognition of his significant contributions and achievements, he was honoured with a Life Membership by the Real Estate Institute of Victoria in 2022. George’s expertise is widely acknowledged, as demonstrated by his status as a Fellow of both the Real Estate Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Valuers. Additionally, he played a crucial role on the REIV Executive Council, notably serving as Vice-President during a significant period.
