More than a spelling bee

This week saw our Secondary School boys enthusiastically participate in the annual House Spelling Bee competition, culminating in the final round at assembly yesterday. House events are often approached with great enthusiasm, and this was no exception.

It was a joy to watch the boys in the audience eagerly support and encourage their peers, celebrating effort and persistence while being slightly in awe of those students who can spell words many of us struggle to pronounce (ecclesiastic, anyone?). Manoeuvre proved to be another tricky one, knocking out three boys in quick succession.

The finalists, from Years 7-12, competed with passion and fierce House pride.

It was a great reminder of how our values show up in so many ways throughout school life, and of our commitment to ensuring every boy feels seen, and that students with a wide range of strengths are recognised and celebrated.

Congratulations to Leon, Year 10 Rofe, for his superb effort being the last man standing, correctly spelling sacrilegious to claim victory.
