We’re an Innovative School, again!

Brighton Grammar has been announced as a 5-star Innovative School for the third time.

We were named an Innovative Schools 2021 winner by The Educator for our expansive entrepreneurship and design thinking programs.

The award recognises the School’s innovative Design Thinking curriculum framework and reimagined STEM programs which encourage our students to think critically, find problems and learn to problem solve.

The program also integrates social entrepreneurship into the curriculum with a focus on addressing real world challenges to better the outcomes of marginalised groups.

Unique STEM activities on offer include the Year 9 Entrepreneurship course, the Year 8 iDesign program, and the F1 in Schools Challenge.

Community Service is a key aspect of our school culture and over the years we’ve been developing increased student voice to nurture a spirit of social and philanthropic entrepreneurship that is evidenced in the ever-growing rates of participation by the boys in promoting the Ute Full of Food, the Sleeping Bags for the Homeless Winter appeal, Eat Up Australia, and the burgeoning environmental and sustainability initiatives including the BGS Keep Cup.

This award follows Innovative Schools awards for BGS in 2018 and 2020, and it’s a fitting recognition of our commitment to our school motto to pursue better things. Meliora Sequamur!
